Job Description


We are seeking a GIS Technician to be based at our client site in New York, NY! The GIS Technician shall provide data in digital formats or captured remotely (via mobile collection) and such data shall be geo-rectified, or geo-located and assigned metadata in order to meet the standards and formats of Enterprise GIS Portal for further configuration as required in Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system and mobile solution for MAXIMO/MMIS.


Essential Functions: 

◾Collect and disseminate utility related data to appropriate parties

◾Establish the appropriate data conversion prioritization to be employed for Authority review and approval

◾Modify the prioritization as required by the Authority

◾Assist the Authority in the deployment of field personnel responsible for utility and miscellaneous inventories to ensure timely tracking of changes in utilities due to construction activities and updating of GIS locations contained in the database

◾Input data in the FMS and populate and format spreadsheets for data migration into EAM system

◾Prepare, revise, and deliver working/functional drawings, maps, and diagrams as required by the Authority

◾Provide GPS location tracking and field-based data capturing capabilities as needed

◾On an annual basis, provide the Authority with a maximum of twenty (20) hard copies, and an electronic pdf copy of all updated maps based on aerial flyovers within sixty (60) days after receipt of the flyover information




Education/Experience Minimum:


Bachelor's Degree preferred or two-year technical degree in related field. Must have at least three years of relevant experience.

◾Excellent written and spoken English

◾Ability to create and maintain productive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors

◾Understanding of underlying principles of A/E industry

◾Ability to drive and maintain a safe driving record

◾Valid state driver's license (any in US)

◾In possession of appropriate paperwork to gain and maintain employment in the US

◾Ability to meet worksite security requirements
